I hope Aisha Buhari won’t suffer – Governor Fayose

Governor Fayose says he hopes Aisha Buhari won’t suffer the same fate like Buhari’s first wife after her explosive interview
– Hajiya Safinatu died after eight years of battling with Diabetes in 2006
Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has reacted to the controversial interview of the wife of President Muhammadu Buhari Aisha to the BBC Hausa.
Fayose, in a statement through his media aide Lere Olayinka, said that he hope Aisha will not suffer for the interview.
“I just hope Aisha Buhari won’t suffer the same fate like Safinatu Buhari… Just thinking ni ooo,” Olayinka wrote.
Nigerian First Lady has threatened her husband that she may not support him at the 2016 presidential election unless he reshuffles his administration.
In a BBC interview, Mrs Buhari said the Nigerian leader “does not know” most of the top officials he has appointed.
NAIJ.com recalls that late Hajiya Safinatu got married to her husband Gen. Muhammadu Buhari two days after her graduation from Women Teachers College Katsina at the age of 18.
In 1998 Buhari’s first wife was diagnosed to be diabetic in Saudi Arabia. Safinatu died on January 14, 2006, following the long battle with Diabetes.
Some Nigerians wonder what Governor Fayose and his allies are thinking about the wife of the president, Aisha Buhari on her interview with the BBC after blaming her on alleged involvement in the Halliburton scandal.
The governor had while reacting to the freezing of his bank accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission argued that Mrs Buhari was involved in the Haliburton scandal.
The wife of the president denied Fayose’s accusations.
